Let's be honest. You've probably read ten Systems Administrator postings today. They all say the same thing: Windows Server, Linux, AWS, great culture, competitive salary. You don't need another list. What you probably want to know is: who am I actually going to work for, and what kind of problems will I get to solve? So instead of HR telling you about the role, here's a conversation with the person you'd actually be working for, Juan, our Director of Technology.
An Interview with the Hiring Manager Q: What are you actually looking for? "I want to grow the team to continue the evolution of our infrastructure and build new systems." Q: What's one of the biggest problems you're trying to solve right now? "Finishing our hosting infrastructure evolution and optimization." Q: What's the day really like? "A mix of forward-looking planned work, incident response, and client support, anything 'systems' will need. There's also a fair amount of ITOps work: endpoint management, office setup, vendor setup, and so on." Q: What kind of person succeeds at Rebel on your team? "Somebody adaptable who's ready to take on any challenge. We can do hard things — and that means anything. Our focus right now is Linux servers and AWS infrastructure, but we can expect a lot of different challenges in the future." Q: What makes someone a bad fit? "Somebody who operates like a checklist and doesn't want to move outside their box." What You'll Be Doing

How We Hire As part of our recruitment process, we have used online, automated systems that include the use of actual intelligence as well as what the government now defines as artificial intelligence, for the last 20 years. All final hiring decisions are made by our team and yes, they are quite human. You should be as well please. NON-SMOKERS ONLY PLEASE.
One Last Question Before you apply, ask yourself: Do you enjoy solving problems other people have given up on? Do you get satisfaction from building something better than you found it? Would you rather automate a task once than repeat it forever? If you answered yes, send us your résumé. We'll take it from there.
